I'm reposting this from the events thread because this seems like a better spot.  A mod can delete my other post if they want.

I uploaded the results of our experimentation today on The Package into my fileshare, the gamertag being "DrKevoun"

We performed the banshee spawn trick as detailed in the video guides that people have posted and then flew around for about 45 minutes before finding something odd.  After crashing my banshee somewhere outside the map, I respawned onto Enigma's location while he was flying around.  Apparently there is an invisible 'floor' in the air the banshee can't go through that we were able to walk around on.  The location of the area we discovered this is in "Weird Banshee Spawn".  In this clip I spawn in the air, and then enigma circles back around and lands his banshee there.

In the second clip, "Weird Banshee Spawn 2," we walk through a 'wall' of fire that Enigma claimed is impossible to go through in the banshee, and quickly start gaining elevation.  We discovered that this walking area extends pretty far in most directions, but there are also pitfalls etc. to fall into.

In the third clip, "Mountainwalk," I filmed a few different areas accessible after landing.  Enigma went pretty much straight north, where the floor begins to descend fairly rapidly.  I walked back toward the playing area and find myself on top of the burning building.  I also found places where you can walk around on top of the mountains as if they are solid, which I think would be a good area to search for switches etc.  You might be able to fly banshees directly to these mountains and land on them even with the boundaries negated.  I would advise killing off all of the enemies on the map before exploring because I was blown up by a fuel rod turret.

For reference, we were playing on legendary and destroyed the two AA guns before performing the trick.  Also, we had three players in the game.

I don't really know how to render videos or post them in any other way so if someone could capture some video or screenshots that might be nice for reference.

I want to mention something called operation WHITE GLOVE.

The materials that come with Halsey's journal mention it as the operation to clear out and demolish Sword Base (during this op the journal is supposedly found).

In "the Package" NOBLE team is given the task of demolition, and then we find out otherwise.  They mention that someone will carry out the demolition.

At the end of the level, we see a huge swathe of land sink into the earth in a massive explosion.  The weather is also daytime, and not nearly as ashey and burney as earlier.  I have no doubt that this explosion is "WHITE GLOVE".  I also think that the Glacier (FF) radio chatter refers to this.

This is not controversial in and of itself, it's part of the story, and it's cool to know that there's this whole universe actually going on in the background of the main story thread of the game.  Still, it seems like there are some gaps in time, gaps that you wouldn't ever notice if you weren't paying attention.

So, for the search parties - maybe there are significant clues to reveal more about the nature of this event.  Even some boxes labelled "explosives" would be a find.

I just finished The Package on Legendary, all by my lonesome.

I've found that you can use the grenade launcher's EMP ability (I assume the same can be done using the plasma pistol, but I didn't try it) to bring down a banshee and use it while protecting Halsey on the end of the level.  I boarded the banshee, and found that there was no driver in it.  I stashed the banshee at the back to protect it while I fought off swarms of covies, so I could try and use it to hit the Tribute Room switch on solo.  You can bet I was cranky when I finished fighting, went back and found that it had gone poof  >:(

I can only assume that this was done to prevent easy switch-flipping, but it could always be a glitch.  Can anyone repeat my scenario, and see if the same thing happens to them?  I remembered to save the film.  After I turned the game off.  So I guess I'll have to do it again myself, anyway  @:

I tried this, But It was not possible to jack the banshee.

Did you do this after someone on Team Noble suggested using the banshee to defend? They might become jackable once they say that. I had tried before they said that.
I feel it

How to get a Banshee on the Glacier part of The Package:
1- get a Jetpack (on the wall, near the Rocket Launchers and some other AAs)
2- fly to the top of the cover right in front of the gate you have to open
3- wait for a Banshee (pro tip: shoot them a bit to make them angry and come after you)
4- hijack it
I am tree.

I tried it after that point.  It's Jun that says it, btw.

I noticed that the EMP blasts didn't seem to reach the banshees for the most part, although that could just be my bad aim with the 'nade launcher.

I've jacked a Banshee each time.  You just jetpack up to one.  I would do it by going to the end of the map closest to the Forerunner thing, and climbing up on the ice.  The banshees sometimes swoop down at you.  Jetpack and jack.  It's pretty simple.

There are some pretty strict kill zones though, so I didn't finda ny secrets.

I'm still curious about why my jacked-and-stashed banshee vanished. I have a feeling some of those kill barriers may disappear after you're done defending, and whether you can drop the banshee next to the switch, jetpack down to it, then hop in the banshee and get out of the killzone before you're killzoned.

Until the reason behind the loss of my banshee is discovered, I will not give up hope that Jun gives us the secret to single-handedly flipping the switch!

Or I do. It is possible to flip the switch, because that little catwalk above the switch wall is NOT IN A KILLZONE!
ODST is all about switches, isn't it?
