SGP: Glyphs - Data Hive Circular Glyph in Cutscene

The Data Hive level is indeed a wealth of data when it comes to the SGP.  In the opening moments of the cutscene, Buck and Dare prepare to approach the Engineer and we spot a circular glyph on the top of the Superintendent's housing:




As Dare shines her flashlight on it, a hidden pattern is revealed:



Here's the detail:


The pattern appears hive-like hexagonal.  Anyone see this before?

That's a good point, maybe just a 'main' place for him to make his faces. He puts it on everything else, why not himeself? lol.

lol. True, but if you look closely at the inside of the circle,there looks to be a handle of some sort. It might not look like it but i could be the turn off,turn on, switch.or somthing else.

I watched this cinematic yesterday through the Xbox360's VGA cable on a Dell WFP monitor and i have to say that the background of the circle looked less suspicious.  It just appeared to look like the rest of the Si structure's surface.  I no longer feel that the background of the Circular Glyph is significant.  I still feel that the presence of the Circular Glyph is.

In a direction of the Circle Glyph, the hexagonal pattern has two segements exactly where the Superintent's eyes would be...

I think the significance (spelling?) of the glyph is to show you that this is the Si and to give players one of those "Oh, so that's what all of those smilys are from. I get it now!" kinda revelations.

Also it makes for a pretty sweet nightlight.

squint and it looks like there are eyes. they don't glow though.

Couuuuld be, I'm seeing something too, but I'm pretty sure it's just our great imagination.
