I dunno if you pronounce URL as "ural" or what, but you wouldnt say "AN URL", you would say "A URL".

I made that error because I'm Portuguese, and in Portuguese the "u" is pronounced "U", and not "IU" (like in "ultra").

IN ENGLISH:
Because it's an acronym and it doesn't make sense being read as a whole, you should pronounce all the letters separately, like this: "U"  "R"  "L", o" IU AR EL".

This doesn't apply to "ONI" because you can undoubtedly and easily read it as "OUNI".

You didn't get it.
In English you pronounce U      R      L. Like that.
Obviously, the 'U' letter is read as IU, so it is obviously "A URL", like "A University".

In Portuguese, the 'U' letter is read as only U, not IU. It sounds just like the 'w' in the word "word" or the 'u' in the word "super". That's why I made that error: I was unconsciously thinking about the Portuguese way to say URL.

Got it?
