I don't see much use for it in going places in Campaign, since pretty much anywhere you can land that you're not supposed to has some type of Kill Zone on it. Then again, that's just off the top of my head thinking.
Btw, you can also just do the crouch after a long fall technique if you want to get down somewhere, and that's if you don't have armor lock.
