FireFight Lobby: Elites hold sword in left hand

Go to the firefight lobby. In the background picture, you should see a structure with 2 windmill like (more like circle mill) beams jutting into the sky. Look below them. You should see an elite pointing  to a direction, commanding the grunts to go there. He is holding an energy sword in his LEFT hand. Once the picture moves to the right a bit, you'll see another elite on top of the structure, looking at the camera, holding an elite in his left hand.

In the Lone Wolf ending, you see an elite foot in the way of the camera, and then his energy sword, which is held in his left hand.

Thel Vadam used the energy sword in his left hand, if I am not mistaken. Could these be descendants of Thel?

Well, all I can give you is this Halopedia article about Rtas' Vadum. In the trivia section it states that there are only three NPCs that carry the sword in their left hand: The Shipmaster, a random elite in The Oracle, and Arbiter. This 'fact' is stated elsewhere, too.
I don't know though if this ain't entierely true, but I trust it. I am not starting to actually look for evidence , but go on and prove it wrong Pulse!

Of course they CAN, however it seems to have been...a thing. Anyway, yes, they can be just regular Elites that a left-handed, sure.

Well, their hands (arms) have the same strength I thought... and since default has been brainwashed to right, they would use the right hand. This would explain while they dual wield fine (odst)?
