Jorge's flare throw
« on: January 08, 2011, 22:47:34 »
On Winter Contingency, when you and Jorge "clear the hole" in the comms array, Jorge tosses out a flare. The trajectory of this throw is different every time. Just something I thought was cool :)
ODST is all about switches, isn't it?

Is it different every time, or are there 7 different trajectories it could possibly be?  ;)

Are you sure it's not just that when it ends the cutscene the ripple effect causes your movements to effect Jorge's movements, which adjust his trajectory angle?

Maybe I'm thinking to hard...

well, you know when marines throw 'nades right? Maybe its just a 'nade throwin' animation and they replaced the 'nade with a flare... Simple enough I would imagine.
...this coffee sucks.

No, this is an underhand throw. Just play up to that part of the level, observe, sucide, repeat.

I've seen marines roll 'nades at the covenant before. I remembered that they would do it all the time in halo 3 if you had catch on... I Kinda recal it in ODST as well.

[OG] yeah they act in unpredictable ways

just recently Jun shot me when i was going to kill a sniper jackal and for the whole time i`ve been playing the campaign that hasn`t happened before
Flying is learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.

When Russian troops got into Berlin in WWII whenever the street they were going down was barricaded, it took them 2 hours and 15 minutes to get through, 2 hours laughing hysterically and 15 minutes tearing the barricade down.

Well that goes without saying. I mean, they aren't scripted to just go exactly here and kill these enemies and then go there.

OG Do you have an apostrophe button? You know, its the button next to colons. It's not the squiggly....
:P I`ve got an apostrophe button.
I feel it

Sorry to Necro, but I just have to share this incident that happened with me and asm. Jorge shot the flare onto a high window, above the ground. Lulz ensued.

Because he tried to shoot the flare for light, but he accidentally shot it at the window, so it got stuck and there was no light.

It got caught in the rafters, not the windows, and lulz ensued because we were two geeky teenagers who found an anomaly in a game :P
