The Package - T4B finding the answers

I could have stuck with a existing tread but I did not what to flood a topic and I wanted a designated area strictly for T4B conversation.

What is T4B?  T4B is short for the four banshees.

Currently no one knows what they are for....This is a good thing, for obvious reasons..

I made a map of the package with a few highlighted areas:
Red: these are the cannons that need to be destroyed.
Purple: switches.
Orange: starting point
Blue: SBMG (Sword base main gate)
Yellow: Banshee spawn

Points of interested:

ONI door (also attached) This door is pre rendered at the start of the mission..this door can be seen in fire fight and during the 3rd objective on the Package. I could be wrong but I think in FF it does open, but other then that at no other time can you gain access to it....although if I am wrong about FF that may just give us even more of a reason to look closer at that ONI door.

Beyond the barrier. Once the banshees are activated the barrier is lifted and you are free to roam where ever you want, but if you head to where all the lava is you WILL take damage from the ground and from a fire/smoke barrier far in the distance. Now this fire/smoke barrier can not be crossed while in a banshee.....but it can be crossed on foot.

If you don't see graphic's/ Land don't worry. You can land anywhere and free walk on anything....just watch out for the invisible pit falls, other then shooting the ground to test for a hard surface there is no way to tell where they are..I also highly recommend you travel in pairs, it makes it easier to judge if you are moving and helps for a quick respawn.

Map size:

I would venture a educated guess that the Package is as big as a typical GTA world (Grand theft auto) from the center of the playable map to the impassable corner of the unplayable map  it would take you 1 hr on foot to walk...which would make the whole map about 6 miles by 6 miles...

Loading:

When you go for T4B right from the start only 75% of the map is loaded and about 30% of the enemies ( unless you hit a check point ). My current theory is that we need to load the other 25%...which is the SBMG and everything after. This may let us gain entry to the ONI door or maybe spawn another switch...(maybe)

Mentionable:

Can I take a banshee to the end of the ALPHA stage?  Probably. I didn't take a banshee but I did take a Ghost all the way to the end, the great thing about banshees is the fact that you can roll. Rolling allows you to get into the tightest spots, I would even say it MIGHT be easier with a banshee...MIGHT. Watch out when rolling you can take some serious damage...

We need to organize and check specific areas 100% maybe someone can make a grid of the playable map and everyone can update the grid when it is 100% confirmed nothing...

We were talking 'bout THIS door? It's inside the SBMG, no? I think that in FF, it leads to where you spawn...The are more of these doors around there, too.  :-\

Yes, that door. Its the one opposite the spawning start of FF.

The good news is we did something.

The bad news is we don't know what we did.

The Team: Pulse. Apollo. Enigma: Team PEA...or APE.

Mission: " The Package "

Objective: Load SBMG and search for anything out of the ordinary..

The plan:

Clear the area.
activate T4B
Tank block SBMG
Check newly loaded zone.

After reloading the check points a few time..we finally parked 3 of the 4 Banshees inside the SBMG and then proceeded to clear the area out. Once completed the 3 of us headed back for our rides and continued to search the newly loaded area. At this point the first area (up to the SBMG had De-loaded) the 3 of us canvassed the area and found nothing. Apollo dissatisfied with our finding headed back towards the T4B spawning point and to his dismay the Deload did a reload.

I started to head towards Apollo who had now landed at the starting point and the 2nd switch was visible and green! As if we could activate it again...but no luck. Apollo took off in his banshee and noticed a Falcon....flying upside down. We both flew towards it as it floated though the air and quickly realized that we were able to react with it. It had properties of a balloon that was losing air, light and falling slowly. Apollo and I kept flying into it until it hit the water and disappeared.

After that the 3 of us went on foot patrol for a while Apollo had to head out.

Last Men standing: Pulse and Enigma

After Apollo's good bye we both flew back to SBMG. I parked my Banshee and headed past the elevator and on to the actual mission..I quickly realized that there was NO ENEMIES. The map would load, doors would open...but the place was empty. Unfortunately once Pulse and I entered the room before you get to the MM Sword base part, we became stuck, both the entrance and exit locked us in...with no way out.

Funny moments:

Enigma: WTF! BOOM!!!! (Banshee blows up)
Apollo: ENIGMA!!?
Enigma: Dude, I did even do anything..The tree killed me!
Apollo: WTF!? BOOM!!! (Banshee blows up)
Apollo: oh..Sorry Nigma I just did the same thing..you're right I didn't even see it.
(revert to last save)

Apollo: Oops lost the banshee revert to the last save Nigma.
(revert to last save)
Enigma: WTF we are all the way back here...F&%$!!

Apollo: Pulse don't kill anything else.
Apollo: God damn it Pulse!
(revert to last save)

Enigma: Pulse bring your banshee to SBMG..
Enigma: Pulse?...

Apollo: that's fine, we will just nade em past the barrier.

The "2nd switch" Enigma referred is the one on the buildings right on the beginning of the level.
It wasn't really green... When seen up close, it was yellow, but from a certain distance it became green - probably due to Reach's depth of field of view thingy. You know.. the farther you get from an object, the less detail it shows.
I'm pretty sure that's why it was green...


Oh, the switch next to the Scorpion was gone. Actually, it disappears right after you turn it on.

Too bad nothing was found though. Perhaps the Banshees are "just for fun"?

Almost forgot:

As soon as the 2nd switch is pulled the return to battle is disengaged. What does this mean? well you don't actually need the Banshees to get out of the map. I noticed this when I was hitting the 1st switch ,my friend hit the 2nd one and the return to battle disappeared just before hitting 2..

It seems that pressing the buttons destroys all the Invisible walls and Kill Zones, so that you can explore the space freely.
Is it so that we could find something outside the boundaries? Seems so...Yet, trough you have searched the area, there still have been no finds what-so-ever...

I have spent more time on this than playing MM....(very annoying)

I have done a lot of out of bounds WALKING...now we have four quadrants:

 Mountains (earth)
Lava(fire)
Glaciers (Ice)
Ocean(water)

I have spent a ton of time around the mountain....and have found nothing. Both on foot and in the banshee..

the Lava, I have spent little time but several thing should be noted... Banshees can take damage from both the wall of flame and the ground, yet players can walk on it and pass through the wall of flame, but if on foot you may fall through invisible pits...

The Glaciers, I have spent little to no time here.

the Ocean, I have spent little time here, but I have tried to walk in it just to die...

That would be good.  I saw learned how to do it last weekend, but I wasn't able to get a vid of it yet.  It'd be best if I could do it again some time, and get a good clean clip.
