Why did the cop have that guy from the tapes in the room then and try to kill him. Maybe the dead cop had figured out just before the covenant came and the other cop had an opportunity to get off Scot free.

Do you mean the guy in the Argon froze room with Audio Log 30 and the cop going in, I believe he was sent to make sure no one knew what had happened after the room was filled with Argon

Maybe the other cop found out when the covenant came and the cop that let's you in saw an opportunity to do just that. Keep people from finding out.

Ya it makes sence if you think about it. Tasked with keeping a secret he will do anything to keep it and if he did kill the other cop then he could easily kill you if you didn't know he was going to.
